Part 1:

Insert your completed map. You will have to upload the image file and insert it on to this page.

An outline of your lake will be provided. You are expected to add the following information (to scale). You can add the information to a paper copy of the lake and scan in the final image or edit a file of the map using Paint or other software.
Identify the names and locations of at least 2 commercial harbors on your lake
  • Identify the names and locations of at least 3 recreational areas on your lake
  • Identify the names and locations of at least 3 major cities on your lake
  • Identify the deepest areas of your lake
  • Identify the borders with states or providences

Part 2: You will be creating an informative wiki page.


General introduction
Write 1-2 paragraphs describing your assigned lake. Make the paragraphs interesting. Use examples and a strong voice to engage the reader.
Harbors

Describe at least one of the harbors on your map in part 1 (150-250 words)

  2. Include links to at least 1 commercial harbor

Recreation

Describe at least two of the recreational areas on your map in part 1 (150-250 words)

  2. Include links to at least 3 recreational areas

Cities

Describe at least two cities on your map in part 1 (150-250 words)

Fact Sheet

This area can be done as bullets or short statements with headings. This does not have to be in paragraphs or complete sentences. Facts to research and include:


  • Location of Lake, what states or providences does it border?
  • Size
    • surface area
    • volume of water
    • depth range
    • miles/kilometers of coast line
    • Length/width at biggest points
  • Monthly average water temp (can be done as a table or a graph)
  • Record high/lows
    • temperature
    • depth
  • Fishing
    • identify at least 5 different fish species found in the lake
    • how much fish are harvested yearly?

Part 3: References


Include a bibliography of books and articles used. Also include links to any on-line sources used for information or images not cited in parts 1 or 2.
